Dr Czerniak jest specjalistą w otrzymywaniu tzw. duchów drożdżowych, a także dalej w kapsułkowaniu w otoczkach drożdżowych substancji. Swoją rozprawę doktorską pt.: “Mikrokapsułkowanie hydrofobowych, bioaktywnych składników żywności w komórkach drożdży” wykonał w Katedrze Biotechnologii i Mikrobiologii Żywności UPP, dopracowując proces do skali półtechnicznej.

Od czerwica 2014 r. do dnia obecnego pracuje w Wielkopolskim Centrum Zaawansowanych Technologii (wczt.pl), prowadzonym przez Uniwersytet im. A. Mickiewicza w Poznaniu jako specjalista naukowo-techniczny.
